Privacy & terms
The short version: we use your shipping information only to get your money back from FedEx, only your own logins and Claimbird can see it, and we never sell it.
What we collect
- What you tell us when you sign up: your name, business name, phone, email, what you ship, roughly how many packages a week, and how you take orders.
- Your login: your email and a password you choose. The password is stored scrambled (hashed) by our login provider. We can't read it.
- Your FedEx shipping records: invoices, tracking results, claims and dispute reports for the accounts you give us access to. This includes recipients' names and addresses as they appear on FedEx's records.
- Your FedEx login: the email on your FedEx account, your FedEx account number, and your FedEx username and password, collected when we set up your store through a secure method, not through this website. Do not send your FedEx password through this website, text, or ordinary email.
- Damage reports: notes and photos you send us from your login.
We use your FedEx login only to download your FedEx invoices and reports and to file claims and disputes for you. We don't share it with anyone, and we keep it out of our website, database and form tools. You can change your FedEx password at any time to end our access, and when you stop working with us we delete it.
The refund checker and recovery estimator on our homepage run in your browser. What you pick there isn't sent to us or saved.
How we use it
- To find late, damaged, lost and overcharged packages, and to file and follow up on claims and refunds with FedEx for you.
- To show you your shipments, claims, statements and what you owe us in your Claimbird login.
- To contact you about your account by text or email.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use your customers' details for marketing.
Who can see it
- You and anyone you ask us to give a login for your store.
- Claimbird, to do the work, with access limited to personnel and systems that need it.
- FedEx, when we file a claim or dispute for you.
- The services that run Claimbird: Netlify (hosting and the sign-up form), Supabase (database, logins and photo storage) and Resend (emails to Claimbird's owner). They store data for us and don't use it for themselves.
Keeping or deleting it
We keep your records while you work with us so claims can be followed through to payment. If you stop, text or email us and we'll delete your login, shipments and photos within 30 days, except anything we have to keep for taxes or an open claim.
The terms
- Fee: Claimbird's fee is 50% of what FedEx pays on the claims, refunds and overcharge credits we find or file for you, unless we agree on a different percentage in writing. If FedEx pays nothing, you owe nothing. There's no setup fee and no monthly fee.
- When you pay: after FedEx pays you. FedEx pays you directly, and your login shows our fee for each paid claim. Pay by Venmo or Cash App. There are no monthly bills.
- No contract: stop anytime by texting or emailing us. Fees on claims FedEx already paid are still due.
- No guarantee: we only file claims that meet FedEx's rules, but FedEx decides what it pays. We can't promise any particular result.
- Your part: the information you give us, including order values and photos, needs to be true. Tell us about any claims you file yourself, so nothing gets filed twice.
- Claimbird is an independent service and is not affiliated with FedEx or UPS.
